Lamplighters Association

The name 'Lamplighter' is not unknown to the masses, but its existence is that of rumour, tall tales of a secret organisation that spans across the realms, stalking faceless individuals who watch and listen from the shadows, knowing every move of their helpless victims and all of their secrets. Like a fly on the wall, you may not know it but they are there, peering right at you when you sleep. People gossip that these secret agents light street lamps to send signals to one another, which how the name caught on. The tales are exaggerated, but they arent far from the reality.
The longevity and resilience of the Lamplighters are largely due to its decentralized, grassroots, secretive nature, and the near-autonomy of many of its members. The Lamplighters have “cells” and lone operatives throughout Tel'Evandros, although they interact and share information with other cells from time to time as needs warrant. Their ideology is noble, and its members pride themselves on their integrity and incorruptibility. Lamplighters do not seek power or glory, only fair and equal treatment for all.
Lamplighters cells are trained to act alone and depend on their own resources. When they get into scrapes, they don’t count on their fellow Lamplighters to rescue them, as to not jeopardise the association. Nevertheless, Lamplighters are dedicated to helping one another in times of need, and friendships between Lamplighters are nigh unbreakable. Masterful spies and infiltrators, they use various guises and secret identities to form relationships, cultivate their information networks, and manipulate others into doing what needs to be done. Although most Lamplighters prefer to operate in the shadows, there are exceptions.
