Trial of the Three Flames Organization in Aroka: Fallen World | World Anvil

Trial of the Three Flames

The formation of the Tyvyum Trade Consortium has brought an unprecedented level of prosperity to the three nations involved, but not everyone believes this to be something worth celebrating. In Morydal, where daily life is still a struggle for survival even with the trade of their raw materials for Cogys' outdated but still moderately advanced technology and Ohedyn's enhanced seeds to bring great crop yields in the unrelenting desert, there are those that believe these mild luxuries are weakening their society and setting paving the way for the extinction of their society. Though this sentiment is generally shared among the inhabitants and leadership of Morydal, it's difficult to call for a cease to trade when the traded goods are improving their way of life and the nation that benefits the most from this trade (Cogys), has the technological superiority to just take what they want instead of trading for it. This predicament has not deterred a fringe faction called the Trial of Three Flames.   The Trial, as they are often referred to, hold fast to the belief that the unforgiving deserts of Morydal are the Three Flames' challenge that only the strongest and most resourceful can survive. The weak will perish a whither beneath their unrelenting gaze, leaving only the worthy to toil beneath them. The Trial has made it known that they hold the Consortium in contempt and believe it to be a puppet of Cogys. Thus far, all their efforts to cease trade have been political, but there have been rumors of their patience running out and more drastic measures are being put in motion.    While not condoning such sentiments, the Braided Tribes have taken no official actions to discourage it. They assure the Consortium that they will quell any Trial acts of violence instigated within Morydal, but lack the naval capabilities necessary to extend their reach into the Tryvyum Sea or to Okanu.
