Arnathia Alpha II A Place To Test Stuff

The Arnathian world is one of rebirth. Since the The Cataclysm  that killed more than 75% of all life on Arnathia, the peoples of the world have worked to rebuild their nations.   The Cataclysm drove the survivors underground, where they scratched and clawed their way through the 30-year winter. For five years, they saw no light from the sun. The world became cold and barren. For the 25 years after that, the world was enveloped in a cold dim light that froze anything left out of their underground warrens.   But one day, the sun began to shine again. Fed by the light of the sun, seeds that had lain dormant began to grow. But it would still be decades before the peoples of Arnathia would be able to begin working agriculturally. And the animals they knew were changed, if they existed at all.   But the Arnathians proved up to the task of rebuilding. The Nine Nations rose and, inevitably, began to war in a bid for the control of territory.   The Kingdom of Orsholon organized a meeting to try to end the disputes and bring peace to Arnathia. And so, the Gathering was held. The Nine Nations signed a treaty to keep the peace, and since the Gathering, there have been few confrontations and the ones that have occurred have generally been handled peacefully. This has continued for centuries.   But 20 years ago, "stars" fell from the sky. No one is sure what the meaning of them was, but since then, there has seemed to be a darkness creeping over the Nine Nations, and rumors of an Offworlder have run rampant.   What is causing this unrest, this darkness? And what does it mean for the future of Arnathia?
