HEALERS OF JEYAL

The Healers of Jeyal are highly trained healers who have extensive knowledge of various healing curatives that restore both the body, soul, & spirit of a person, who are trained within one of the Halls of Jeyal. Devout followers of Yavah, they are well-respected among many groups for their healing capabilities. However, they do face opposition from many magic-groups due to their non-magic stance, serving as a point of contention. Despite this, The Jeyal Healers are sought after by many people for help for their problems that normal healers cannot handle.

Structure

The Healers of Jeyal have a high degree of autonomy in each branch, who are governed by a Grand Healer who leads each branch. Once a year, the various Grand Healers meet together in a Council Of Healers who entered a period of prayers & fasting for guidance on matters that affect all Halls of Jeyal. Master Healers are responsible for running the daily tasks of each Hall, reporting to the Grand Healer. They are tasked with ensure that each service is conduct well, the needs of all healers & people are met, conduct large-scale healing sessions, and deliver sermons to the people. They also assist Healers in the training of disciples, and will also train disciples directly. Healers are the main field leadership of the Healers of Jeyal, and the most commonly seen by the people due to their fieldwork. They are the most active of the Healers of Jeyal, handling many medical & supernatural cases that require their capabilities. They are often seen in healing centers, battlefields in times of war or crisis, places of great infestation, or the public areas of whereever they are stationed. They are also tasked with training disciples in the ways of the Healers of Jeyal, choosing them from initiates who have been called to this path. Healers also ensure that initiates receive daily lessons, and see to their needs whenever required. Disciples of Jeyal are initiates who have been chosen by a Healer or Master Healer for further training, learning from them everything they can before taking the full position of Healer. They learn to follow the teachings passed down by Jeyal, who was a follower of Yavah. They also assist their mentor in their field assignments, often handling tasks that their mentor deems fit to help their growth. Initiates are new converts who are not yet assigned to a Healer or Master, and are often seen in services learning the lessons of that time. They also are assigned to aid in tasks involving the community, such as aiding the poor & destitute in their time of need.

Foreign Relations

The Healers Of Jeyal have a great relationship with the members of the Gebbor Order, who share the same faith that the Healers do. It is quite common to see Healers seek out Gebbor for assistance in their tasks, as well as providing protection in ways that Healers are not allowed to undertake. The Gebbors are happy to provide such aid, ensuring that no trouble of any kind occurs on their watch. The Gebbors also benefit much from this relationship as they will bring individuals who are dire need of spiritual help to the Healers directly. They also will ask for a Healer to accompany them on their missions, well aware that the healers can provide defensive aid for them or anyone they are tasked with protecting. The Healers of Jeyal also have a good relationship with the Champions of Astoria, who value the Healers aid in their mission. At least several Healers have been called to the position of Champion in their history. Healers have also been known to aid the Archpriest in times of dire need, such as wars & crisis that affect many people. The various groups of magi have a antagonist relationship with the Healers Of Jeyal, often trying to hinder their efforts anyway they can. They see the Healers are a challenge to them, a threat that they are seeking to defeat. Part of this contention is that they are unhappy with the Healers’ message of the disparaging of the magic arts, which naturally irks them greatly. Another is that the magi groups are jealous of the various expansions of the Healers Of Jeyal, which is a visual marker of their successes. The magi groups are fearful that they will lose their influence, with different groups employing different means to maintain their influence. The Knights of Nobilana have a uneasy alliance with the Healers of Jeyal, who are also wary of them as well. The Healers will work with the Knights in providing medical care for them, and their charges as needed. However, the Nobilana Knights’ reputation for attempts to subjugating people has made the Healer very wary of them. The Knights are also wary of the Healers for their adhere to independence, plus their defense arts make them formidable opponents if pushed. The Knights Of Nobilana have elected to leave them be, going so far as to signing an accord with the Healers. While the Healers are grateful for this accord, they still remain mistrustful of the Knights Of Nobilana.
BRANCHES
There are many Halls Of Jeyal stationed throughout the different continents of Arktoria, with each Hall overseeing a local district, region, province, or nation. They often times are stationed in more rural or suburban areas, though they can also be found in different cities as well. Each Hall is established by a newly promoted Master Healer who is called by the Grand Healer to do so, who receives a vision of Yavah of such a calling. The Master Healer will then go to search for the place they are called to, and establish a Hall there. Most authorities who learn of their venture will not attempt to interfere, instead preferring to provide any assistance they can to the Master Healer.
TRAINING
Training for all members of Jeyal begins as the Disciple phase, where they begin to meant all aspects of being a healer. They are examined by the Healers to ensure that they have no connections to any magi, for any use of magic is forbidden. If they are found to have such connection, the initiate are told to cast away such attachments several times. If the initiate sincerely does as required, then they are fully accepted. Refusal by the offender to cast out their attachment to magic will result in their removal from the Hall. They first learn the history of their ministry, and the faith of Yavah that all Halls of Jeyal adhere to. They will also begin their healing training, learning by reading on the different aspects of healing the body, the soul, and the spirit. They learn how to see past the natural to see the spiritual through guided hands-on instruction. The disciple will begin to learn how to handle more difficult assignment, guided by their mentor who determined what time they are ready to do so. Disciples are also expected to learn the defensive arts of the Healers of Jeyal, which are special powers that allow them to defend themselves & those under their care. These spiritual abilities are meant to defend those facing harm, while also disarming any attackers to prevent them to doing further harm. While they do not use lethal force, they are given techniques that allow them to escape serious harm. After sometime has passed, once the disciple has shown enough maturity & responsibility in their training the Master Healer will assign them to the Trials of Healing, where they are sent to aid other Healers in more complex cases. During this trial, they are expected to know what they are doing by demonstrating their capability. If they are successful, then the disciple is promoted to the full rank of Healer.
