The wood of tha arkan trees allowes one to tap into the magical power of earth and cast spells freely. These trees were few in the Old World and as such, civilization developed much like in our world. But with the discovery of the New World in the west came the discovery of woods full of arkan trees. Wielding the power of magic in their hands, the world was changed for the better overnight.   The new frontier is littered with ruins of what seems to be once a great magical civilization, but where are they now? The grey-skined savages who inhabit these lands now do not wield magic. So what happened to them? And is there truly no cost for magic?
