Mythology & Lore
Maker and the First Children- In the beginning, there was only Maker. She travelled the world but found that she was alone. She was lonely, so she created five children, and imbued them with some of her powers. These children transcended into Godhood, and through their disagreements, they built the world that is Argeddon.
Divine Origins
Religion originated with the Animen, who were deeply connected to Maker and the Gods. The Humans had their own religion, but throughout the Second Age were converted by the Animen.
Cosmological Views
Maker and her children shaped the world as we know today
Tenets of Faith
Every Life is valuable, and must be protected.
Any Creature that is hunted must be killed out of necessity
Murder and Suicide is wrong
Death is Final, and should not be prevented
Ethics
A devout follower of The Golden Temple will not kill for joy, murder, or contemplate suicide. They would not hope harm comes to another. A follower celebrates birth, and accepts passing of life.
Worship
When a family experiences birth or death, they would all go to the Temple to recieve Maker's blessing for a continued long, fulfilling life. Offerings would be gifted to the Temple on a regular basis, and worship would be practiced for Nine days during the Two Festivals
Priesthood
Maker's Priests- sworn to a life of pacifism, they will not hurt another living being. They are trained to perform births, as well as hold funerals for those passed on. They also visit criminals to speak about redemption, and remain close to a new mother for comfort and advice.
Their robes are white and gold. Many will worship and hear them speak from the Golden Scroll during the two festivals thrown in Maker's honour.
To join the priesthood, one must make a pilgramage to Era to study the traditions and learn how to uphold the obligations and traditions the Golden Temple provides.
Political Influence & Intrigue
When the Leaders contemplate death as a punishment, a priest must be present to help in the decision.
Sects
It is currently known that Animen fell out of favour with the gods, and the Animen hope to redeem themselves by punishing the Royal families (Anisal) that turned the society away from religion. Many of the young descendants of the Royal family believe that the gods have forgiven them and the caste system installed in the Third Age should be dismantled.
