The fourth child was Batan, a tall, thin woman with four arms. She brought the safety of the home, as well as health, music, dance, and the city. Kings, Queens, and other Rulers must recieve her blessing or the city will not be protected by her. Followers of Batan become spirits who carry out her bidding.
Batan is the main diety of the Anisal, as she preaches fair treatment, which is something Anisal struggle for because of their lower status.
Batan is also worshipped by healers, as she represents health
Home, health, City, Music and Dance
A white peacock, a plant with four leaves, the number 4
To partake in music amd dance honours Batan, and may bless your hearth in return (self explanatory)
To use violence against those who serve you is to insult Batan, and will bring only a cold hearth (abusing your help or the employees in your company will cause you to lose the fire in your fireplace)
To sabatoge anothers hearth is to insult Batan, and may you never feel safe in your own home again, for the threat of black dogs will be ever present ( if you steal from someone else, damage/destroy anothers home, or spread rumors and secrets will cause you to lose Batans protection)
Festival of the Hearth- Four days of house parties. The homes are cleaned of dirt and dust and smell. Herbs are hung on the walls and friends are welcomed in. Priests wander the city offering blessings to homes and they are offered food and drink. Also a time of forgiveness, where people who had spurned Batan in the past may ask for forgiveness and recieve her blessing once again. This festival happens in the Spring, and is along the lines of a 'spring cleaning'.
To create a unity among the cities. To spurn Alitheus.
History
Alitheus was the first child of Maker, and brought chaos, and disease to the world. Batan, the fourth child, brings health. Initially starting as friendly towards each other, the relationship degraded due to Alitheus inherent instability and decietfulness. She discovered that he had stolen some of her spirits, and had twisted them to almost unrecognizable, and brainwashed. After confronting him, Alitheus told the other siblings he had witnessed Batan having sex with his black dogs out of anger. After discovering this rumor, Batan told the siblings that this was a lie, and Alitheus only said that to cover up his own desire for her (which was not untrue). Alitheus lashed out once again and inflicted her followers with a plague. Unable to cure such a disease, she begged Maker to create a herb that would do so. Maker, with great love for her children, accepted the request and assisted in curing Batans followers. Worried that Alitheus will hurt her followers again, she created a protection around their homes that prevented Alitheus from entering
