Aren

Aren is an Earth-like world at the cusp of an ideological conflict. Similar to Earth's own history in the 1930s, the old monarchical order is falling apart. Although the ancient empires and their monarchs control more than half the surface of the planet, new forms of government have risen to challenge the status quo.   In the heart of the highly populated and industrialized continent of Aralia, Erodony, a young nation, has embraced Fascism and the cult of personality of its Supreme Leader. Viewing the collapse of the decadent monarchies and the incompetent democracies, Erodony is determined to take its place of glory on the world stage. On the other side of the planet, the island nation of Eyali has succumbed to a totalitarian Communist revolution, nationalizing the industry and land; viewing its political system as the destiny of the future, eyes its neighbors with greed and violence, seeking to topple the imperialists wherever they might be found.   Warily arrayed against the two totalitarian ideologies are the constitutional monarchies of the Lorensi and Basconese Empires, with vast lands under their control that have spread their military power over distant lands to retain their control over indigenous populations; leaving them with insufficient power to resist a rapid assault by the concentrated forces of the dictatorships.
