Halfling

Halflings are nearly as common as humans in most cities throughout Ardunor. They are a vibrant, fun-loving people as a whole. Despite their small stature and their dextrous nature, most halflings would rather relax with an ale than clamber around the sails of a ship or climbing through somebody’s 3rd story window to steal some valuables. Even so, the ones that do take to these kinds of tasks excel at them.   Halflings are generally a very kind people, never sparing a negative thought about those around them. They are frequently optimistic people. Many consider them to have an unnatural kind of luck, where things often just work out for them in the end, despite how bad things look to start with.

They write very little, so they don’t have a rich body of literature. Their oral tradition, however, is very strong. Almost all halflings speak Common to converse with the people in whose lands they dwell or through which they are traveling.

Origin

Because halflings exist just about anywhere that humans do, they may choose any of the human sub-ancestries, aside from Ütherreichian, as well as the ones listed here.

Bailiwick Halfling

Though halflings occupy most of the same cities that humans do, they also have their own villages anywhere there are green, rolling hills. These halflings make their homes in cozy underground burrows, and live cheerful lives full of celebration and merriment.

Bracciano halfling

Being of Bracciano origin means you came from one of the very many city-states that exist around the Bracciano Sea, such as Castellana, or Armendur. While the cultures of these city-states are incredibly diverse, there are some commonalities between them.

Shibetian halfling

Having this origin means you hail from the Shibetsu Empire on the westernmost peninsula of Ardunor. The people here are largely isolated from most of the rest of the world, and live in unforgiving, cold, mountainous regions.
