Gnome

Gnomes are a fey creature, hailing from the world of Arcadia. They are an odd sort, and many scholars believe they are descendants of dwarves who somehow found their way into the realm of the fey and got lost. Gnomes share some similarities with Dwarves, including their hardiness and preference for underground dwellings, but the similarities stop there.
Though they are originally from Arcadia, many gnomes have found their way over to Terra and make their lives among the mortals. As fey, gnomes are a naturally mischievous people, although many of them learned pretty quickly that pranks and trickery are much less tolerated here. The gnomes that have been in Terra the longest tend towards tinkerers, playing around with magical artifacts to unlock their secrets, as well as making a few improvements of their own.

Age

Gnomes are nearly immortal, if not totally. A newborn gnome matures at the same rate as an elf, but doesn't have to worry about how long it's going to live.

Alignment

Gnomes are most often good. Those who tend toward law are sages, engineers, researchers, scholars, investigators, or inventors. Those who tend toward chaos are minstrels, tricksters, wanderers, or fanciful jewelers. Gnomes are good-hearted, and even the tricksters among them are more playful than vicious.

Size

Gnomes are between 3 and 4 feet tall and average about 40 pounds. Your size is Small.

Speed

Your base walking speed is 25 feet.

Darkvision

Accustomed to life underground, you have superior vision in dark and dim conditions. You can see in dim light within 60 feet of you as if it were bright light, and in darkness as if it were dim light. You can’t discern color in darkness, only shades of gray.

You have advantage on all Intelligence, Wisdom, and Charisma saving throws against magic.

Arcadian Gnome

The gnomes that are freshly arrived from Arcadia are the least familiar with the customs of this world, but they’re also infused with much more magic than those who have been here longer. These gnomes like to make their homes in towns near forests, feeling a natural pull towards nature.

Elder Gnome

Gnomes can live for a very long time. The ones that spend most of their lives in the material world often forget about their fey ancestry. They become fascinated with the magical artifacts, alchemical formulae, or technological marvels of the people of Terra.
