Pillar of Sathrandar
The Pillar of Sathrandar is a legendary text from which the Sixteen Pillars supposedly derives.
The chief religion of all Imperia (meaning northern Kynaj), the Sixteen Pillars are worshipped not only by East and West Orckid, but also by the peoples of Viis Zoroth, the perennial foes of Orckid. The Pillars are believed to have been some combination of the Eight Winds, the ancient faith of the Viisianars, and the Mornal gods brought over during Calphus' Conquest. They were supposedly unified when a figure named King Sathrandar inscribed the Four Truths upon a pillar within his palace. Scholars have noted that this person may be apocryphal, as only East Orckid has ever been a kingdom, while both the Old and New Orckid Empires as well as West Orckid have been empires from their inception, and Viis Zoroth having always explicitly been a queendom.
The palace of King Sathrandar supposedly existed either in Tauriconia or Craed Beleth. Today, "Sathrandar's Pillar" can be found in several major palaces in both Tauriconia and Craed Beleth, as well as Vedevenda City, Barsalam, Ajman, Emarda, Esharion, Haushora, and Carrelasas. Many of these pillars are claimed to be the original, and admitted recreations can be found in the homes of many powerful families.
The Four Truths are:
1. All is transient.
2. Life comes with the breath, and leaves with it.
3. As above, so below.
4. There is one breath.
