History
The Maelfens claim a strong and ancient Rathi lineage. Their primarch, Pardraigh Maelfen, was called the King of Lions, as he supposedly chased, caught, and imprisoned a pair of silvery lions that haunted the moors. These lions were said to be the ghosts of murderous thieves who could not abandon their wealth. Pardraigh forced one of the two lions to tell where he had hidden his treasure, but the other refused to speak. Some versions of the myth say Pardraigh released the first lion and kept the other locked in his dungeons for all time, while other versions say he kept both lions imprisoned. Either way, the ancient wealth of Clan Maelfen (long since gone), was said to have come from the treasure stolen by the lions.
