Ardach & Ys

Ys and Ardach are paired worlds a universe apart joined by a common foe.   Ys is a primal world, only partially settled and that by disparate monstrous races. The lands are wild, peopled by scattered tribes livng in the shadows of mighty elemental Titans. The world was so for five thousand years, chaotic and unruly. Ancient ruins abound, harboring secrets and lost magics. Every day expeditions come upon new and deadly creatures and locals.   Ardach is industry and growth, unchecked magical and humanoid innovation and expansion. The lands are mostly used up and scarcity is high, with crops sickly and water diseased. Racism runs deep as resources run low, and many cities are a meal away from riots.   It was a godsend when the portals were discovered and now it is a mad scramble to settle farms and conquer lands in the primal Ys. Each nation and company have their own agenda and means of executing their will, and they clash constantly over the abundance of the new lands.   As the exodus from Ardach is heavily controlled via the portals, the governments or Syndicates who controls them exact strict contracts for labor on farms, military service, or other more shady deals. Many a laborer has taken a lifetime contract to till the rich soils of Ys, only to find themselves further in debt while living in government rented housing. Add in the dangers of a new world and unfriendly neighbors, and you've got quite the stew...
