Tiefhohl
One of the newer kingdoms in the Frontier lands Tiefhohl is a land of law and order ruled by Aldus Schmiede, who feels that organization is more important than growth.
Structure
Right now, Aldus Schmiede is the sole power in the kingdom. He has appointed numerous reeves but has yet to elevate anyone to a higher position. He is looking to divide the kingdom into duchies eventually, but right now feels the kingdom is too small both geographically and population wise.
Public Agenda
Right now, the agenda of Tiefhohl is to bring the surrounding lands under control. Aldus values order very much and seeks to tame the land. He realizes the quickest way to tame the land is to bring in more settlers but is reluctant to have unchecked immigration. He is trying to find a balance between the two.
Assets
A retired adventurer, Aldus Schmiede has quite a bit of wealth to his name, and he is not against using it to prop up is young kingdom. However, he is reluctant to spend moneys, either his own or the citizens (via taxes) until he is certain he is getting the best return for his investment. Tiefhohl, as does most of the Frontier lands, has very fertile soil, and is good for growing crops and grazing livestock. This particular spot along the Rozux river also produces and abundance of clay suitable for baking into bricks.
History
Ten years ago, Tishthidh was nothing more than a collection of fishermen and shepherd’s huts. That is when Aldus arrived with several score settlers and a plan. Construction began in earnest and within a year several timber frame buildings were raised and a town square was paved with river stones. In the decade since Aldus has built more public works, to attract settlers, including a mill, a proper port, and a dozen others. Including several warehouses to store products produced to ship downstream. While there has been a trickle of immigration it’s been slow in growing, as Aldus hasn’t worried about attracting settlers. He has recruited a handful of craftsmen, mainly smiths, carpenters, and masons, to continue to build up the town. The nation as grown as people lured by free fertile land suitable for farming and herding have come to the region to set up homes and work the land.
Demography and Population
Total Population: 130,726 (Human 103,274, Halfling 11,765, Dwarf 6,536, Elf 3,922, Gnome 2,615, Other 2,614)
Religion
Like most of the Frontier lands kingdoms, the people are free to openly venerate any deity they choose, saving the evil deities. Aldus, the ruler of Tiefhohl is a worshipper of Laki, and has begun construction of a temple to him. Other deities so far have small shrines in the capital city of Tishthidh. Laki is a popular deity in Tifhohl for obvious reasons, as are Azu, Emku, Mudutu, and Utu.
Foreign Relations
Tiefhohl is on fairly good terms with Windbrücke, and less so with Ethfamen. It is on neutral terms with Cektoh, as both kingdoms are coveting the same stretch of land. It is on tense terms with Sarhólgahnúm as the kingdoms are very close and the elves of Sarhólgahnúm believe (with some justification) that the residents of Tiefhohl covet the timber of their land.
Agriculture & Industry
So far Tiefhohl is primarily an agricultural power, consisting of farmers and herdsmen for the most part. Aldus has been working to import craftsmen and artisans, and a few have set up shop in Tishthidh, primarily smiths and carpenters. For the most part Tiefhohl must import finished goods, but Aldus hopes to fix that soon. Aldus has considered a law requiring all farmers and herdsmen to set aside one acre of their land to grow trees. He hopes to one day be able to export timber. Whether or not this will bear fruit given the number of forests in the Frontier lands is anyone’s guess.
Trade & Transport
So far trade for Tiefhohl is done on the Rozux river, primarily downstream to Windbrücke and Orthatebh, but also upstream to Cektoh and points beyond. So far Tiefhohl hasn’t found a niche of material to export that can’t be produced in the other Frontier lands kingdoms, but given the shortage of timber owing to the two nearest sources being claimed by elves, Aldus hopes to corner the market on orchards by encouraging his people to plant trees. He is also in negotiations with Cynesige Apfelnähe of Ethfamen to establish and overland trade route between the two kingdoms. The primary setback at this time being Tiefhohl has little to trade.
Education
As with most places in the Frontier lands, education is accomplished by the church of Emku. Currently there is a shrine in Tishthidh, with plans to construct a temple soon. Currently parents from outlying communities must send their children to Tishthidh to receive an education, unless they home school their children.
Infrastructure
Currently there isn’t much in the way of infrastructure in Tiefhohl as a whole. Plans are being made to build paved roads from Tishthidh to the outlying communities, but as of yet they’re just plans.

Major Exports
So far Tiefhohl has nothing to export apart from food stuffs, which are in little demand except in the southern coastal cities.
Major Imports
As of yet Tifhohl imports anything finished, with the exception of metal goods, although it still imports some of them as the few smiths that have moved to the country can’t keep up with demand. The only thing Tiefhohl doesn’t need to import is foodstuffs, as it’s farms and ranches produce enough to meet the demands of the population with leftovers to export.
Legislative Body
Tiefhohl has no separate legislative body as both legislative and executive power rests with the crown, at this time Aldus Schmiede. He makes the laws he sees as necessary and passes them down to his reeves for enforcement.
Judicial Body
At this time Tiefhohl is still small enough for high justice to rest solely with the crown. Low justice is handled by the various reeves appointed to oversee the settlements. The decisions of the reeves can be appealed to the crown, but Aldus so far, is reluctant to overturn the decision of his reeves.
