Rozux River
Winding through the nations of Sternenhellwulf, Hirschtal, Onzethcalet, Cektoh, Tiefhohl, and the eastern edge of Windbrücke before entering the Esas Ocean at the city of Orthatebh the Rozux river is one of the longest and largest rivers in the Frontier lands.
Geography
The Roux River starts high in the Tågbaf Mountains. It flows east out of the foothills of the Tågbaf mountains some 500 miles before it hits the Suuriäiti river in the Märkämaa swamp in the lands of the Våtplas. Here it is known as the Sisko river. In the Märkämaa swamp it turns southward where it travels several thousand miles through the lands of the Ledigklar and Fjernhjem and the kingdoms of Hirschtal, Onzethcalet, Cektoh, Tiefhohl, and Windbrücke before emptying into the Esas Ocean near the city of Orthatebh. In the Barrir swamp between Sternenhellwolf and Hirschtal it joins with the Shwester river its last major tributary, thought it will collect water from numerous minor tributaries.
Fauna & Flora
The Rozux is home to numerous species of fish, including trout, shad, sturgeon and others. Many waterfowl like ducks, geese, and swans make their homes along the shore, and otters and beavers can be found along it’s reaches. A variety of reptiles, like snakes, and turtles including snapping turtles make their home in the river, and crocodiles and dwarf caimans can be found in its southern reaches. In addition, almost all the animals native to the Frontier Lands can be found along its length. Numerous plants also call the Rozux home, including aquatic plants and terrestrial plants along the shore. The Rozux has its share of monstrous dangers too, as aboleth, dire crocodiles, giant dragonfly nymphs, giant gar, giant hellgrammites, kelpie, freshwater merrow, nereid, and giant snapping turtles can be found lurking in its currents.
Natural Resources
Along with the numerous fish and other animals found in it, many trees grow along its length and its currents are strong enough to turn the many water wheels that line it. In addition, it is a source of fresh water for many communities.
