Ammihlit River
The third largest river in the Frontier lands, the Ammihlit is the primary trading artery for Ethfamen, Windbrücke, and Ebhar, along with the many small communities that dot its length.
Geography
The Ammihlit starts high in the Tagbåf mountains near the dwarf stronghold of Ikofah fed by the glacial highlands it starts its journey to the Esas Ocean, wending its way through the mountains than the foothills, before reaching the plains. Once clear of the mountains its southeastern wanderings turn sharply southward. Its volume increases by half again when it joins with Nichte river in Fexlil. From there it sweeps south and slightly east until it leaves the territory of Windbrücke where it adopts a slightly westward direction before ending in the Esas Ocean in the free city of Ebhar.
Fauna & Flora
The Ammihlit is home to numerous species of fish, including trout, bass, gar, and others. Of special note is a breed of perch known as clown fish due to the white circles around its eyes, and its reddish snout. Many waterfowl such as ducks, geese, and swans make their homes along the shore, and otters and beavers can be found along it’s reaches. A variety of reptiles, like snakes, and turtles including snapping turtles make their home in the river, and crocodiles and dwarf caimans can be found in its southern reaches. In addition, almost all the animals native to the Frontier Lands can be found along its length. Numerous plants also call the Ammihlit home, including aquatic plants and terrestrial plants along the shore. The Ammihlit is not free of monstrous dangers however as aboleth, dire crocodiles, giant dragonfly nymphs, giant gar, giant hellgrammites, kelpie, freshwater merrow, nereid, and giant snapping turtles can be found in its currents.
