A millennium ago, the land of Arcos was a land of peace. The kingdoms were united, and the land was home of a flourishing economy based on the exchange of knowledge and goods. Life was good. But peace was never meant to last…

War was declared when Astoth the fair, the holy king, heir of the throne of men, was taken hostage by the One. The parasite spread through the holy family like wildfire, taking over the minds of those affected by it. Modeling each memory into murderous intents. But the parasite didn’t stop there. The parasite carved its way into the minds of men and befouled the souls of those unlucky enough to have been infected by the treacherous fiend. Men fought to eradicate the parasite from the world, but alas, failed. For all parasites are one, one must eradicate all hosts. Today this event is known as the fall

For a thousand years war raged on, destroying the lives of millions of Arcosians. Today, men know the parasite as the One or Nos in the tongue of the Arcosians. For all affected are connected… all connected… By blood. As time passed and as the one grew, the one started losing grasp of its numerous hosts and the one had to focus its strength on selected individuals in order to keep its consciousness in its hosts. However, never completely gone, the One could always grab hold of it’s infected if it felt threatened by external forces.

Today, over 80% of all living things have been infected by the One. The end is near…
