Operator

If you were an Operator, and not a Drone Operator, that was fancy way of saying you were the most tech focused profession out there. It didn't mean that you were an engineer cnd could build or repair the tech yourself, although most could. It meant you had M:IC that was optimized for a 1:1 interface. Whenever you used tech, you were bonded with that one piece of tech in a way that nothing else could, it was almost to a supernatural level. So you might not have an army of robots, but you could have a single drone or robot in perfect sync to you at the optimum technological level. It also uses a lot of power. That's why most wore exo's. Those that were not using exo's tended to be pilot various vehicles, to take advantage of that one to one focus and the need for a fusion battery or larger.
