Tenthal the Knowledgable

Description

A vampire that acts as the leader of Westner. He is an older man that has ruled over the town for centuries since its founding. Despite his vampiric nature he does not drink blood but instead feast upon raw magic taken from himself and magical stones that he buys. This limits his vampiric powers but some say that the magical influence has given him an affinity with the arcane. He often presents as a curt and cutthroat leader of his small town, but this appearance is only to outsiders whom he does not trust, especially those known to kill beasts and half-monsters.

Beliefs

Tenthal has survived by being skeptical and defensive to those on the outside of his group because of this people rarely gain his trust. People that do have his trust are extremely protected by him and are allowed any privelage or luxury he can afford. This is not often monetary and is more often a use of Tenthals resources to provide favors and assistance to his friends. Tenthal protects half-monsters and those deemed monstrous by the rest of the world. This includes undead, goblins, created creatures, and lycanthropes. This niceness does not extend to other vampires though since Tenthal had a falling out with the major vampire factions amongst Arcnine because of his belief in using alternative methods for preserving his vampiric life. Despite this Tenthal would not give up his vampirism despite having the resources to remove it.

Relationship to Westner

Tenthal founded Westner with a group of misfit monsters and half-monsters that are now all dead. He keeps their legacy alive by allowing anyone to stay in the town so long as they do not lay harm to any other person in the town. Tenthal often stays out of the trade that passes through the town and allows it to flow freely unless a major problem occurs such as a fight like The Western Passage Trade War where he halted the fighting from progressing to absurd levels by stopping access to Westner by either faction for a short time. This was near the end of the war after the major conflict that caused the death of two full caravans and dozens of adventurers.  The citizens of Westner often come to Tenthal with their problems and he attempts to resolve problems as quickly as possible with a level of expertise and exactness not seen by mortal leaders.
