The Owlventure - Day 21
General Summary
The heroes first stumble upon a statue of a fox. It seems to be very similar to the ruins of the civilization they're leaving behind in the vale, not that anything remains of it. Upon touching the statue, there is a bright light, hurricane winds, the heroes are blasted back and pinned against the surrounding rock. When they can see again, a vixen stands there, lost and confused. There's a flurry of chatter and questions, trying to piece things together.
Their new friend, Ashe, soon agrees to follow them towards their home city. Things however, swiftly go wrong.
They come across a water crossing, a small river from a dammed up pond. They can see the pond itself is starting to flood neighboring areas. Thorne for his part, refuses to cross the dam. He opts for a stone bridge. Soren leaps out onto the wooden dam, along with Alistair. As they're standing there, massive boulders rain down, the dam is destroyed and a moment later, the heroes are shrunken! Thorn thinks he's safe til' another boulder gets his bridge. He follows the others' fate a moment later. A pair of owls dropped the rocks, then two more came in, shrank the rocks, and flew off with them. The heroes were left to scramble to stay afloat, riding the waves to a massive ocean.
Across the ocean, they met the owls. They're magical and talking! Also, quite massive. The heroes stand just a few inches tall, except the now amazonian Thistle (at 6", not shrunken). Initially, the owls confuse them for insects, then want to arrest them for helping their enemies, the humans (afterall, the party looks just like them). There is some talking in circles before at last the heroes are put up in a room in the owls' great tree for the night.
