Stormpunk
Wielders of Lightning
The mortal races have not always been on top of the foodchain. Many years ago, when the fire had at first been invented, mortals and monsters competed for resources on unfair grounds, which often forced the mortals to seek shelter from these creatures of the night. Now with the power of thunder coarsing through their gloves, the beasts of the dark tremble in fear as electronic devices whirl to life.Acces/Aviability
Though stormpunk technology is relatively new and has a complexity to which has never before been seen, it's already a widespread phenomen which can be found in many places all over the world. Though not everyone can just delve into or dabble with it on a whim, every streetlight fueled by electricity is stormpunk. Every spoil of tezla and every radio, movie projector, or battery driven devise is new age stormpunk tech. Furthermore, as various different cultures seek to use the technology for their own agendas and development, during the last twenty years several new subcathegories have already been developed. Within Westport the witch Soren Camille has pioneered Technomancy as a type of weaponized combination of the tech and magic. Utilizing metalic and mechanical sigils, trinkets and runes both on machines as well as people, to create robotic Custodians, soldiers and augmented electricronic charms which replicates magic. Normania has taken to a more civil usage of the science, having utilized electricity to create things like lightbulbs, switches, elevators and even invented the movie theatre. They simply call this tech Electronics Stormtech is an experimental tech being developed by the Rabensturm Institute which utilizes batteries, amplifiers and coils to unleash a fury of thunder and tezla from weapons such as guns and blunt steel. Though these weapons don't tend to be the best suited against intelligent beings dressed in armour which makes them slightly or in cases completely resistant towards the force, it works wonders on plated foes, robots and organic monsters.Complexity
Stormpunk can be as simple as a large metal rod being struck by a thunderbolt and thus conjuring electricity through the metal. Though utilizing it to anything else than a stormcatcher can be complex work. Mostly, the technology function through energy being harnessed through coils or batteries, which serves as a form of storage. Through switches, spools and links this energy can be allowed to traverse, either causing various parts to perform a type of work, or utilizing the built up force itself to trigger a reaction.
Discovery
For as long as civilization have existed, the dark clouds and low hanging air which follows the violent streams of rain has always been an omen for the village folks to seek shelter. The destruction a thunderbolt can wreak on the land has both brought fear and wonder among the people, as charred trees and and the rubble of a thatch building is sometimes all that remains from one of their erratic smites.
In the recent age, men and women of science have taken a peculiar facination to the thunder, as many aimed to harness this power of the gods to themselves. Discovered by Nicholaus Tezla around thirty years ago, the powers of coils, augmenters, spools and batteries has been a great stride forwards within civilization.

Oh, this is fun! I really like technomancy and electric magic, and this is no exception. I like how different regions have gone about things differently too, it helps ground the article (pun absolutely intended).
Hecc yeah! Thanks for the like! ;D
