Quadbarreled Shotgun

You know what they say, double the firepower and double the fun.

Mechanics & Inner Workings

The Quadbarreled shotgun is little different from the oridnary dual barreled gun. It features an extra trigger mechanism combined with a pair of upper barrels, which can have one shell fired off by a half trigger and two shells fired by a full trigger. It's however recommended that people never press both triggers down fully from the getgo, as the extra barrels are purposed to allow more cartridges to be fired from the quad barrel, while still allowing for nearly as quick reloads as the common dual barrel. Not only would a discharge like this waste ammunition, but could also render the user significant wounds from the kickback.

History

The Quadbarreled shotgun was developed by Morkadian gunsmiths during the war against the Dyskhari invasion to grant themselves some extra firepower to up the odds. These guns eventually found themselves in the hands of close quarters fighters due to their versatile effectivity of clearing out enemy lines in entrenched terrain or buildings.   Eventually, the gun found itself to be mass produced, along with it's shorter version. Known as the sawn off quadbarrel.

Significance

The quadbarrel is often called the ol' trusty among Morkadians, thanks to it's widespread shrapnel and vast amount of shots. All around, the gun being able to fire reliably on a range between fifty to seventy meters and still wound targets to the point humanoids are like to end up dead or maimed has made it popular among the commoners. It's stopping power also makes it an effective tool for putting monsters within the grave, making the sawn off version a must have among many monster hunters.
