Crows Mountain

Geography

If cruelty is beauty, then there is few sights within the Commonlands as morbidly facinating from a natural and untouched subjective as the Crow's Mountains. Named from the beaklike rocks that stick out from the mountain walls like spears, or the feathers of the dark birds. The mountains are often shrouded in a darkened shadow from the larger Dragonmountains which the passage resides just at the foot of.   Within the passage itself, one can see both steep cliffs along with traversable ones flanking the valleys within. Among these walls or stoney spikes of dark karsts and granite the Dyskhar of the Morstein people have made their home, along with the Corvex. These large spikelike formations which rise from the ground serve as natural signposts and landmarks for an elsewise harsh to traverse landscape.   The biggest of these, surrounded by roads and small communities is known as the Nightwatcher, as it's seen seen from almost every nook and cranny of the valleys. One just need to look upwards for the brilliant display of elderberry coloured alchemical lanterns which radiates a dark yet somehow also light sheen from it.   Fresh water trails down from the mountains into the Crow's lake which can be found between the roads upwards the mountain from the Nightwatcher, just next to the Crow's Estate. Which is where the inhabitants of the passage get all their clean water from.   To enter or leave the Crow's Mountains, one must take either of the two passages. The Northwestern Crow's Passage is generally the popular option as home to a bustling town just between there and the Dyskhari Heartlands yet one may also take the smaller Passage of Blades to see the reknowed spikes flank each side of the passage in a display which almost resemble two sides waging war on one another. Said passage eventually leads out to the cursed Ravenswood.

Fauna & Flora

Though one may not believe it, the region is rather rich than scarce in flora. Herbs like thyme and rosemary grow abundant along the mountain foots. It's also common that one may find cabbage, spinach and beets being grown by elven hands, though carrots and kohlrabi also grow aplenty in the wilds without any hands to attend it. Which is not to mention the many evergreen pines, mosses, lichen ferns and shrubberies with defy the rocks and steeps to conquer them within a net of roots and floral might.   Among the fauna, it's most common to find smaller rodents such as rats, hares and chipmunks within. The latter which can glide with wings. Though larger animals such as deer, goats and ram are also common enough. The carnivorous creatures mostly consisting of foxes, bears and great birds of prey.

Natural Resources

The mountains are mostly known for their rich abundance of stone, metal and gems which can be found within the mines, that are currently occupied and used by the House of Crow's.

Ecosystem and Climate

The mountain passage and valleys have day and night cyckles, as well as the four seasons to most all other regions of the Commonlands. It does however get some seriously harsh and dangerous winters, as the cold winds from the mountains above blow down a lot of snow and blizzards on the lands bellow. Making outdoor hours during the winters to be extra deadly and are therefor often spent hibernating, or in the Dyskhari case, hiding it out within their homes and mines.   The Crow's Mountains are cold three out of four seasons a year, though warm up pleasantly during summer. All in all, the living conditions tend to be most pleasant for the inhabitants who often prefer a colder spring and darker autumn to that of the opposite. It also makes hunting game far easier, as most animals of prey tend to stay outside of the mountains and valleys for more easily accesible woods right next to the region.
