Core of the Mountains

Access & Availability

Though it's technically easy to access this technological relic from a standpoint of just walking into the cavern, since it's ungarded, it's not as pleasant a journey to get there through the snowy mountain steps and an Airship is more or less crucial to get there. Then one needs to avoid the creatures within, being both that of ogroids, arachnoid creatures and mad raving cultists. Even then should one best all these threats, the maddening whispers of the relic itself would turn most people mad.

Complexity

Little is known of the core, except that it's design looks like a combination of both dwarven and demonic tech, though ancient. What it's used for is only speculation and few even know about it's existance, as Quentin has more pressing matters to attend than play scientist in a mountain where everything tries to kill him. As for how it looks. Like a rubic cube that is constantly spinning around over an empty altar underneath. Magical chains holding it in place and twisting with the turning of the cubes sides, with the runes constantly taking new forms and shapes for every change. The colour of the cube itself is black and looks like obsidian, with the runes being a fiery red. Around the cube and etching into the altar is also a cup that looks like the casing of a crown. Made out of pure steel with dwarven shaped flair to it. A roundabout tip connecting these binds with an old rusty brass cap.

Discovery

On a frozen road, deep within the ranges of the Gothangelic mountains, a cavern dug out by masterfull dwarven smiths appeared. From it's depths a deep red glow pulsated with danger, as Quentin roc Morin took his first step inside. His Iron Wings close by as they secured the room from any potential threat. There was none, rather he found the room omniously silent, with only a singular device found within the rounded out room. On top of the shape of an altar a cubic form of codex slowly twisted and span within the air. Immages of horrendous creatures appearing like holograms from this ancient piece of demonic tech. Worse yet, the longer they spent within the cavern, the louder did the echoes and screams within their heads get. In the end, Quentin left the device within - marked on his map with an X, for whichever bloody adventurer is brave or foolish enough, to try and unveil it's mystery.
