Bjyrnsta

Demographics

The people of Bjyrnsta are mainly common folk, fishers, herders and hunters. There isn’t much of a higher class in the village, as the northmen take up almost half the population, with the human settlers having a bit higher numbers.   Coin isn’t a too valuable resource at all in the village, causing most to ignore class systems entirely and simply live for the day, to improve, expand and preserve their village.

Government

Governing the village is a young woman of the Caras family. She oversees the political and trade factors in the village, while the Blackbloods aid her by keeping track of records on food, supplies and crimes committed.   They are also the main form of guards in the village and drive in the taxes, and a social security network that distributes help to people in need.

Infrastructure

The buildings in Bjyrnsta are simple, thatched roofs on timber walls with stomped down floors, with various pelts and linen everywhere. The buildings are on average small, but a few larger ones with a bit of more luxury have popped up around the corners due to the southern influences.

History

The village used to have much larger homes though, as it was a human colony not too long ago, before the Dark Elves went to war with the Frozen empire.   The village was ravaged by this conflict, as most of it was burned, the guards slaughtered and the populace taken as slaves. Bjyrnsta fell to ruin soon after, before the Dark Elves entered again and built a forward base in their campaign.   The village was then once more burned down to the cinders by the one man army known as a Sarak’s driven Arathon Caras fueled by wrath.   Once the annihilation party was over, he freed the slaves and set to rebuild the village again. A few years later, his daughter came to take over Bjyrnsta.
