The Lustrous Temple Of Avarai
This particular temple is the only remaining structure of the original King Avarai's palace, which was mysteriously destroyed shortly after his ascension to demigodhood. The palace has since been rebuilt for the current Dynasty, which caused a lot of uproar with the devout of Avarai.
History
The Temple of Avarai is housed in the throne room of the original palace. While it did sit in the center of Palace Hill, shortly after Avarai's Ascension to demigodhood, the entire palace crumbled and the throne room slid down the west side of the hill. Eventually, the palace was reconstructed for the current Kaemedie family that rose to fill the power vacuum.Significance
The temple has now become a place for people to pray for wealth, power, and other such traits associated with a King. Such prayers have never been answered, but due to the other demigods granting boons of their devout, people continue to pray.Interior
Purpose / Function
This particular temple serves as the center for worship of Avarai. It was originally constructed as a grand tomb, but was repurposed a few years after his Ascension.
Alterations
Since the time of its creation, various surfaces have been gilded, gem-encrusted and more places for offerings have been added.
Occasionally, statues of Avarai will be replaced by more skilled craftsmen with more accurate features based on visions.
Architecture
The structure has high ceilings and is supported by several rows of pillars made of the most precious materials available to the rich and gaudy followers of Avarai.
As it was originally designed as a burial chamber, there are very few rooms and heavy security measures that have only increased.
History
The tomb was first built by Avarai in the thirtieth year of his reign. He had become increasingly obese due to his lifestyle and struggled to perform daily activities, and feared he would soon die.
He lived for the next ten years while it was constructed, and near its completion the War Of Flames occurred. Men were directed away from the war to complete the tomb.
Eventually, the Ascension of Renova Ignae, Patron of Fire brought the war to an end and Avarai commanded he be Ascended as well. When Avarai successfully became a demigod, the tomb was converted into the Temple.
