Around the campfire.
A memoir going over the Summer Camp experience.
This year marks the first time I, as a writer, have diligently written something for an entire month. I had problems keeping up with the articles at first, being behind by an entire day for about half the entire run. When the gold prompts were revealed, I took a moment to look back at everything I'd done. It was an odd feeling, to say the least. Having abandoned a former career to pursue writing, this served as a wonderful exercise to strengthen the need for creativity to exist in my everyday life. It also showed me how important writing habits need to be if I'm ever to publish a novel.
Far be it from me to say this was easy. There were many times when I wanted to give up. Too many, in fact. The disillusion of not being read, of people not saying anything when they did ate away at the back of my mind as I wrote about the world of Arc - Tus and whatever happened in it. It was only through the handful of likes I got from Masters and Grandmasters that I could keep pushing forward.
And here I am, almost fifty thousand words later, thinking about a campfire under a starry night sky while the trees rustle quietly with the winds of change. I'll admit that some of my works aren't the best of my capabilities, but the fact of the matter is that I sat down every day for the past month to rack my brains and produce something I hope someone out there found interesting.
if anyone ever reads this, I want to thank you. Odds are we don't know each other and we probably won't ever do. yet you took the time out of your day to read some random guy's ramblings on a world that doesn't exist so he and his friends can enjoy their game of make-believe. From the bottom of my heart, I appreciate you greatly and hope you're doing well in these strange times.
Now let me rest in the glow of the fire. A trail of embers seems to be leading upwards, far beyond the canopy and into the heavens themselves. Maybe someday, my stories will be told around a campfire while people hear in amazement.
Until then, I'll keep on writing.

This was beautifully written. Congratulations on completing summer camp, and bravo for not giving up. Keep up the hard work and keep on not giving up, you never know who may stumble upon your work.
Thank you so much for the encouragement! The mountains may be high, but there's always someone willing to cast their sights to the vistas they might hold. That's how I feel regarding the Summer Camp as a challenge. Once more, thank you for your time!
