Arburg General Cookbook
The Arburg General Cookbook (known as AGC) is a collection of recipes from all over Arburg. It is used in almost every Arburgian settlement, although some make more use of it than others. It is a collection of recipes from all over Arburg, and there are even one or two recipes from Atra in there, a little insight into the Atrian lifestyle. Another noticeable few recipes are from Rascad, and they are traditionally bilesian.
Historical Details
Background
This cookbook has existed since 190, when King Lukas' wife Maisie, made it. She loved everything to do with cooking, and felt that if she could combine all the culinary traditions of Arburg in one cookbook, Arburg could reach new levels of cooking. She hired an educated person as an extra Royal Scribe, and toured the kingdom to collect all sorts of recipes to make one book. Each was written on a separate document, and the original collection is archived in The Royal Palace. After she had finished compiling them, books were created out of it and spread through Arburg. Three books were granted to each settlement, and they are stored wherever the town or village wishe to store them. The books can be accessed by everone, and many women copy down the recipes for home use.
Public Reaction
At first, everyone was unsure, because they had never really been exposed to much "foreign" culinary tradition. But, eventually, it became a widely popular book. Some towns, like Atra, however, refused the books and gave them to Eflaria and Asmye.
Legacy
It has become a national treasure, valued by many, and has encouraged many other cookbooks to be written.
