Sand Sleighs
Sand sleighs come in a variety of sizes depending on the intended use and cargo capacity needed, as well as on the strength of the beasts of burden that pull them. They are designed and built mostly the same as standard carts and carriages used across the world, or as sleighs for use in snowy places, but they have skis instead of wheels or blades. The skis are magically treated to be able to smoothly glide over even the coarsest of sands.
Early attempts to make sand sleighs without magical enhancements showed that it didn't take long for non-magical treatments to wear off and were thus unsuitable for long distance travel. Since the magical enhancement for the skis was invented, sand sleighs became the most popular way of travel and transporting goods for long distances through deserts. Before then, there were no relatively cheap and reliable way for people who are not magically inclined to bring larger items across a desert, and travel was made almost exclusively on camel back or on foot. Caravans of camel riders are still common but they will almost always also have at least one sand sleigh to carry things that are unwieldy to pack in saddlebags.
The magical enchantment on the skis isn't too advanced or complicated to perform so the price of a sand sleigh typically isn't much more expensive than a cart or carriage of similar model.
Small sand sleds exist for recreation as well but they're typically without any enchantment as non-magical treatments are enough to go sledding on the dunes. However, people with more money to spend will get their sleds enchanted, not only to be able to glide smoother but also to enhance such things as durability and steering. There are communities that treat dune sledding as a sport and take modifications to their sleds very serious.
