Personal history

Born on Sunbringer 27th, year 1910 of the Age of Awakening in Coldsnap to the governor of Bonfire Ward, Marwan, and his wife Rasha.
Aziza's childhood was a happy one even though her father was mostly busy with his work. It didn't bother her much as she was very close to her mother and had plenty of friends as well. Her favourite part about her father's job was all of the parties he had to host for other government officials and diplomats from abroad. She loved to listen to their stories as well as entertain everyone with one person plays or singing and playing music. Her parents weren't boring or strict like others' and encouraged her to be seen and heard, when it was appropriate of course.
Aziza went to school with the other kids in the Bonfire Ward. They were prepared to hate her for having rich parents in a mostly poor district but she quickly won them over with her natural warmth and generosity. She never thought that she was better than anyone else and instead realised how fortunate she was.
As Aziza become older she didn't want to study politics or something that could help her get a steady career like her parents had hoped. Instead she was drawn more towards the arts and wanted to become an actress. There was little opportunity in Coldsnap so she told her parents that once she became eighteen she would move to Mithelin in Ashoedan where she had heard from visiting officials there were plenty of prestigious theatres. Her parents reluctantly indulged her as there was still a couple of mere years until her eighteenth birthday.
When Aziza was seventeen years old, a traveller like had never been seen before in Coldsnap crossed her path while she was heading to a friend's house. A tall man with charcoal skin, red irises and shock-white hair. He caught her staring at him and smiled, bowing elegantly in her direction. Before Aziza could even think about it she walked up to him and introduced herself. She learnt that his name was Sabal Hune, a drow adventurer who had just reached the city. Aziza offered to show him around Bonfire Ward and he accepted, telling her stories of his adventures as they walked around. She was immediately in love with this man who was unlike anyone she'd ever met - and she had met a lot of people.
They had a whirlwind romance and Aziza would lie to her parents about staying with friends when instead she went to Sabal's room at The Silver Scale inn. After a few weeks together Sabal told Aziza that the adventuring party he was with had gotten a job and he had to go with them but that he would be back soon. They spent one last night together before he left.
Aziza waited for a couple of months, feeling gloomier and gloomier with each day. Even her body seemed affected by her mood as she felt constantly tired and she threw up in the mornings. When it hadn't stopped after a week she told her mother who immediately suspected that Aziza was pregnant. Aziza then told her mother about Sabal and that he would come back for her.
Rasha was horrified as most people in Coldsnap hated all long lived races and elves most of all. Aziza was bringing shame on the family and if anyone found out they could lose everything. Marwan would for certain lose his position as governor. Her parents told her to pack, gave her some money and told her to buy passage with one of the trader caravans. She was not to return unless she got rid of her child somehow. Aziza was never going to do that, and she was certain that Sabal was going to find her and they would be a family.
A few months shy of being eighteen years old, Aziza found herself with just a small backpack on a caravan heading to Beryran. From there she planned to head to Solmine where she knew that surface drow lived, in hope of finding someone who could tell her of the whereabouts of Sabal.
By the time Aziza arrived in Solmine she was almost out of money and always hungry. She asked the innkeeper if they knew Sabal and they replied that all they knew was that he kept leaving his wife and sons to go on stupid adventures. Aziza fainted on the spot and woke up hours later in a soft bed at the inn. The innkeeper took pity on her and let her stay there for free and gave her food as long as she helped out around the inn. Aziza knew that she couldn't stay there for long. If Sabal returned to Solmine and found out that she was there she would die of mortification.
To her good fortune, a performance troupe passed through Solmine a couple of weeks later. She spoke to the leader, an old elf named Tassarion, and he agreed to let her audition. When the performance troupe, Nossvai Menel, left town a few days later she left with them.
Being pregnant on the road wasn't easy but the troupe took care of her and made sure to stay in a town for a few months around the birth. On Moonbringer 3rd, 1928 Aziza gave birth to a daughter and named her Sonata. Her daughter became the most important part of her life and she worked very hard to give Sonata the best upbringing one could have while travelling with a performance troupe.
That was all shattered when Sabal managed to find them. He was still charming and handsome but Aziza was no longer impressed. She wanted nothing to do with him as it had been years since she saw him and now knew that he was married to another woman. Despite all of that she decided to play nice because Sonata deserved to see her father and clearly liked him. Aziza had not anticipated that Sonata would leave her to go with him. It broke her heart and she tried to stop it but Sonata wouldn't listen. Sabal took family away from Aziza once more but this time he didn't even leave anything behind for her to hold onto.
Aziza kept performing as it was everything she could do and hoped that her daughter would return to her one day. Perhaps then she would tell Sonata everything even though it would pain her to shatter Sonata's innocence.
