Araway

Araway is a world overflowing with magic. Every creature, plant, and natural objects is infused with magic, though some lean one way or the other. Then there are spirits, beings that are more magic than flesh. The spirit and mortal realm are forever at odds, and interactions often have gruesome ends. Mages are feared in some cultures and worshipped in others. They grow crops, control the weather, build kingdoms, create works of art, and heal the sick. They can also raze forests, rip souls from their bodies, create horrific monsters, and inflict near unremovable curses. Wars have almost destroyed the world. 150 years ago, the death mage Drogo caused the first world wide war in an attempt to create the largest empire ever seen. The most recent war was the Trio War. A shaky truce was achieved, but fifteen years later it threatens to start up again. Gangs and crime are a worldwide problem. While they are tough to stop out, tracking is easy due to the trail of mayhem and curses they leave behind.
