Arathil (Air-ahh-theel)

10th Day of Winter's Night in the year 1357

It's been sixty years since Grimshaw, a banished deity, attempted for the second time to return to the lands of Arathil by a human avatar. When he was about to defeated, at the large city of Sanguine, he released his energy sending a wave of magical energy throughout the world, bringing many different other races to the world that were not previously here. The devastation around Sanguine was a ten miles radius of wastelands. People of Proudheart have called this area The Gloom Tear, for those who were there were all killed, and those who have entered afterwards have never returned and all that come out of it at the start was grotesque deformed creatures. This has slowed down drastically over the past thirty years. King Alexander Proudheart, of the Kingdom of Proudheart, fell into a depression for so many of subjects had been killed over the last eight years. He never took a wife so there is no official heir to the Proudheart. King Alexander passed away a year ago leaving the Ealdorman of the six shires the only ones in charge until a new king can be agreed upon.   Some Ealdormen have claimed they would be best, but rumors are swirling that Alexander had a bastard son, but no one knows where he is.   There is a new adventurer's guild called The Unsung Heroes that has just been formed by Dinaala Daveport and her best friend, a Leonin named Eramaz Lightmane. They are based out of a small port town on the western border of the Kingdom of Proudheart called Ocean Grove. It is very close to the borders of The Lands of Peril, a land that has become a dangerous place to travel over the past ten years.   You are new member of this adventurer's guild trying to make a name for yourself. It will allows rewards for ranking up within the guild.
