General Summary

I am beginning to distrust my companions. Hamood, the Sandan paladin, and Mavis, the waitress, are trustworthy, even if I can't shake the odd feeling I have around Mavis. Mutt I trust fully, of course. We have been together for 7 years now. I do believe the fool would die for me. I dare say I might be dumb enough to do the same.
It is the others that worry me. I have never trusted gnomes and this one seems quick with knifes. Even more worrying are the sorcerer, a human that seems to be more interested in fire than is good for him and the glaivewielder. Both seem to have a disregard for life I have yet to observe the depth of.
A dragonborn joined us as well. He is quiet and lacks the sadism I have observed in the others. Yet there seems to be an eerie air about him. I might trust him the least.
It was decided we would meet the employer of the bandits we met. Hamood and Mavis would execute the deception and I was to observe from close by. The power of nature can be a wonderful asset when blending in. The lie was bought, but what I saw was not without displeasure. Venatorii where they didn't belong. If what I heard of them is true, and I've heard many things, these are the ones responsible for some of the worst atrocities committed to my people. My anger would have to wait. They are famed fighters after all. Not a foe I could handle now. An assignment was passed on and they went on their way.
I would return to our companions to find our captives with slit tongues. This displeased me greatly, which I let be heard.
The task handed to us was one of arson, but on greater scale. The tavern I rested at before was to see its end.

Writing of this has turned my mood sour. I shall therefore recall a fonder memory.
If found to my surprise that I could converse with the animals around me. I have always had an affinity, but not like this. I discovered this on a visit to the stables, where, upon approaching the horses, I had one of the most refreshing conversation I have had in along time. With the aid of Mavis the horse was bought. Moby we called it. I do wonder what became of him...
