The Shrouded Lands
This land is filled with fog or mist, it is in perpetual gloom. A sheet of fog and low-lying clouds have enveloped this region for as long as any fey can recall. Only those with a very good reason enter this area.
Certain areas are considered “safe”, for training purposes or when mages need to draw on the magic encompassed here. This area is neutral ground and is for everyone's use. The Mists are also dangerous to the untrained or one without a strong will. If you walk into it without a clear destination, you might wander for years. Wander with fear in your heart and the Mist will provide the monsters you think of and devour you. Those with the will can create almost anything they want. The mist responds to the will of the mage, whether he means to or not. Long ago Underhill was “carved” out of the unformed lands. Those of strong will can take and hold large swaths of land and make it into what they want.
Geography
The Shrouded Lands is close to various other planes including the Faewild, elemental chaos, and twilight web. It is also coexistent with the shadowlands. There are many entrances from here to those mentioned previously as well as being able to step into a shadow or weak spot in various of these borderlands.
It is mostly a featureless plain but easily morphs into what is being imagined by the traveler.
