Starborn Temple

Written by Pookas Kreations

The main temple of the Starborn was built on the top of a mountain, it was called Mt. Osha (the shining or glowing mountain). They bought the twin peaks of Aine and Osha, the nearby peak Aine had was a mostly quartz peak that shined during the day and glowed at night. While Osha had lost her top at some point so this is where they built the temple. It took many years to build, but when it was complete it looked like a cross between a stupa and a pyramid. The walls were curved upwards and met at the top, and a dome covered the top quarter of the structure. The dome was used for astronomical observation.  Inside the mountain, many passages were carved out of the stone internal structure. Many terraces were built onto the sides of the mountain, with passages for water that led to them. The mountain had many storerooms, living spaces, hallways, libraries, schoolrooms, and various others.

Purpose / Function

This is the first temple of the starborn before they had smaller buildings that never completely filled their purpose. They had to build up the resources to be able to buy the land and to be able to pay for those needed to built their structure. It is used as a temple, school, and an obsevatory, as well as anything else that they needed.

Alterations

The tunnels inside the mountain left plenty of room for any alterations that were needed. There where many places in both the mountain and the stupa that no one knew existed.

Architecture

This building uses elements of Egyptian, Buddhist, and Chinese types of architecture, as well as Astralus and Atlantean architecture. There are many domes, arches, angles, and terraces included in these types of buildings.  The building includes three main features
  • a hemispherical mound called an anda
  • a railing (wall) that surrounds the mound called a harmika, it is usually made of stone or brick and is often pierced (either round or square). At each of the cardinal points there is a decorated gateway (torana), the lintel has three horizontal bars
  • a central pillar with three discs equally spaced along it is placed on top, this is called a chattra (an antenna), This is meant to represent the pivot of the universe (mundi).

Defenses

The harmika, torana, mundi, and chattra, are all combined to set the boundaries for a force field. The torana all have DNA scanners inside to scan anyone that enters, and no unauthorized person is allowed through.

Looks like a strong piece of worldbuilding. Although, the sentences in the first paragraph seem to be disjointed
