Exposition

Setting is where the colonists are about to be sent off, the last supply shit is going to be sent from earth to the ship. normally just launched from luna but for tradition's sake we launch it from earth. there are a bunch of nervous people, but almost no one is more nervous than the captain herself. she's got a 28 year voyage, leaving behind everything she knows. she's going to be one of the first people to have children during interstellar travel. they're going to a planet that has never been set foot on before. they're going to colonize and they are never coming back. it's supposed to sustain human life, but so much could go wrong. the program was launched around the same time it was spotted- 50 years before. now, though, this planet has been decided on as the destination. 42 light years away, traveling at 83% of lightspeed.

Conflict

the captain is expected to have a child but doesn't want one. she knows it will interfere with her work. she is nervous.

it's just going to talk about the earth program that launched all of this. the hard work put into it. how many people have sacrificed for this. and the nervousness. also setting the scene for jason to be born
