Aohagane

Over a thousand years ago, a small merchant fleet seeking refuge from a massive storm landed on an yet unexplored shore, looking only for a place to rest for a few days and repair their fleet. Among exotic fruits   A long time ago a small group of merchants landed on the shores of a yet unexplored small continent, looking only for a place to rest for a few days, repair and restock their fleet, but were surprised by the discovery of a new and valuable metal ore. Keenly aware of the meaning of this newfound resource, they established their first colony and named that land “Aohagane”. Many centuries later, each of those original families had spread throughout the continent and founded their own city-states (), while maintaining a commercial alliance (the Shonin League) among them to control the exploration, research and trade of their precious metal. Powerful and proud they grew, and soon started to attempt to gain influence outside of their own shores… an endeavor that came to be their ruin. Enraged by the rising arrogance of the Shonin League, 3 great countries (1 human, 1 dwarven and 1 tiefling) joined forces to attack the land of “Aohagane”, waging a war that devastated most of the continent and forcing the majority of the population to seek refuge in the first city state, the Shogunate of “...”. The conflict lasted for 3 generations, until it finally came to an end. No one knows exactly how it happen, if it was the superiority and the Shonin’s weapons and armours that wore the enemies, if the invaders collected enough ore to satisfy their desires or if the differences between their races finally made the joint war effort crumble. Or if the strange typhons that came to assolate most of the surrounding seas scared them aways. The only thing that is sure is the destruction left behind by the decades of war... A few years after the actual ending of the conflits the reconstruction efforts began, and at the same time the struggle among the noble families arose. Unsatisfied with the little political power held by the families of the destroyed city-states, their leaders demanded that Shogun “...” () divided its own fortune and resources equally among them, helping with the reconstruction of the old League. The shogun had a different solution, he would help to restore the broken land to its former glory, but only the banner of his own Shogunate… the “...”. Feeling that the old treaties were broken, the remaining Shonin families organized a coup, a failed one. Unable to grab power and know declared enemies of the Shogun, they fled his lands, but took much with them: not only resources and people, but large amounts of the precious, and now much rarer, blue ore. Finding refuge in the eastern part of the continent, protected by the “...” (the narrow isthmus connecting the two halfes), they began the reconstruction of their old kingdoms, fighting against the savage wildlife and terrible monster that came to occupy their former homelands. The failed coup didn’t overthrow the Shogun, but it weakened his might enough for the city-states to come to existence once again under the banner of the Shonin League. 30 years passed, and now the troops of the “...” march through the “...”, guided by on word: revenge. The Shogun War has started.
