Another Earth

Like our Earth, but not quite. What if history had taken a different turn? What if languages had taken a different turn? In an alternative place in space and time, a mirror of our Earth exists. Magic bubbles under it's surface, more tolerance, less tolerance, so many what ifs that never came to pass here.   But came to pass there.   A world war unlike any other has swept through it, severely crippling several governments, leaving only the strongest hanging on. Yet still people find the time for their persona plotting, for murder.   In the middle of all of it is a thirty-something war veteran who just wants to live his days in peace. Too bad peace has other plans.
