Kingdom of the Mountain
The Kingdom of Vola is a mountainous country, the "Mountain" in the Alliance of River, Mountain and Plain. Along with its two sister kingdoms, it is wealthy and inhabits the far northwestern section of Damir.
As part of the Alliance, it trades heavily with the Kingdoms of Padua and Eymir.
Demography and Population
The kingdom's population is largely human - the majority of which are Western Damiri. Other ethnicities of human also abound, as do members of other races. Orcs are largely unheard of this far from the frontier.
Territories
The Kingdom holds territory over the large island of Vola, as well as the outlying islands - Bibari to the north, and Illemar & Guidance Garrison Islands to the southeast.
Military
A centralised militia, mainly with kingdom-wide patrol, keeps in the piece in Vola. Alongside these are specialised rangers that rove the forests and urban areas on more difficult assignments.
Foreign Relations
The Kingdom has easy relations with its neighbours within its island group. It rarely receives trade outside this area.

To facilitate most trade, Vola (along with the other Kingdoms of the Alliance) use the Hanseatic Gold Piece. While available in silver, copper and platinum denominations, gold is the most current means of exchange.
For larger transactions that make metallic currency impractical, a banking certificate of exchange is used instead.
Legislative Body
The Large Council and Prime Minister are responsible for legislative authority throughout the kingdom.
Judicial Body
Judicial procedures are handled by a series of judges, and enforcement is handled by the militia, which is controlled by the central government in Seriana.
