Maryyn

One of the larger daar on Havarl, buildings in Maryyn have domed roofs to prevent vines from the tropical jungle from taking hold. There is a large open landing area for landing craft. Maryyn is on the far side of the planet from the Remnant pillars surrounding Pelaav Research Station.

    Demographics

There are 24 distinct families in Maryyn, the most prominent of which are the families of Sahuna ama Darav, Alono Shie, and Moshae Sjefa's sibling Leallan Laal. Each family complex typically houses three generations of the family and is within a few minutes' walk of at least two others.

    Government

Unlike on Aya, settlements on Havarl typically do not have a mayor. Major decisions are made by a council of three, typically elders and sometimes even moshae, in each daar.

    Ethics & Law

The same core principles apply on all angaran worlds in the cluster.
    • Punishment for crimes are commensurate with the degree to which the actions harm the daar or the Angara as a whole
    • Visitors to the community report to the local Govataan (welcome center) for health care upon arrival
    • Food, shelter, and essential care are provided to any who demonstrate need

    Industry & Trade

More than 40% of the food supplies for the Resistance during the last 20 years of the war with the Kett came from Maryyn. Though its only active farms grow kawari on the shores of Kaliwon, the nearby river, it serves as the central food processing operation for Havarl's massive jungles.

    Infrastructure

The landing area is the most well-maintained on the planet, even remaining clear during the worst fluctuating mutations in the vegetation of GR 75. Alono Shie's effective organization here since GR 44 forms the foundations of bureaucracy in the angaran capital on Aya.
