Valassë, the Prime Deity, created nine deities. The Nine in turn created the Elemental Planes. At the intersection of these four planes sprung the Material Plane. Over time, The Nine became curious about this new plane.   Rhovan was the first god to explore it. Soon after, he became lonely, and decided to create the Elves and the Aarakocra. Seeing this, Praesiel and her consort Kadrel came, and created the Goliath, Dragonborn, and Dwarves. These races lived in harmony, although they stuck to themselves, except for trade.   After years of prosperity, the twins Menel and Nûrnen, as well as Gwaew, Gwanath, and Athae, arrived. They created the Gnomes, Halflings, Kenku, and Humans. Kadrel and Gwaew fostered a sense of community and civilization in the races of the world. Races and clans grouped to create many great cities.   The peace would not last, however, as Rhakhaan grew jealous of his siblings and the races they created. He came to the material plane and created all manner of evil creatures, forming them into an army. He sent this army across the lands to pillage and destroy all things good in creation.   War lasted for years until only five great cities stood. In order to stop their brother, the other gods took it upon themselves to general their own armies. In one final battle, Rhakhaan's army was defeated.   Valassë, seeing all this destruction, became furious. He returned The Nine to the Astral Plane, where he resides. Valassë decreed that no god or goddess shall play and active role in the material plane. Being denied access to the material plane, The Nine all decided it best to create and settle in their own planes.
