Brain of Lightning
The Brain of Lightning is a trueSilver pendant with a finely detailed tiny brain made of purpaurantius in the center. Said to have been made as an order from the Ancients themselves, legend has it the jewel was a gift from a person in a position of divine power to an early member of the xe Monitcz family, where it was passed on from generation to generation. It is currently in the possession of Aktanari xe Monitcz.
History
According to legend, the creation of the Brain of Lightning was requested by Fabricweaver himself, for him to gift to a female Jav that had made an impression on him and was very special and dear to him. The tiny brain-shaped detail meant to symbolize the fact that the woman was always in his thoughts, in the past, the present and in the future. Fabricweaver provided a jeweler with the resources required for the construction of the pendant, primarily purpaurantius and trueSilver. In his excitement of getting to work with the rare and exotic material purpaurantius, the jeweler unintentionally spread the word about the material being in his temporary possession. Eventually word reached the circles of the criminal and the unsavory, who couldn't let this opportunity for great wealth go past them. The jeweler's workshop was well-secured due to the nature of the materials stored there, so the robbers knew they wouldn't stand a chance when attempting to steal the purpaurantius there. So they decided to go for a long-term plan and waited until the pendant was finished. Closely monitoring the jeweler's shop and the jeweler himself, they eventually observed a hand-off of the pendant to a woman that was invited into the workshop. They then followed her and attacked her on an empty street. The woman defended herself and in the ensuing fight she got mortally wounded. She was left alone annd dying in the empty streets. The legend ends saying that Fabricweaver wept when he heard of her death and that the tears hit the pendant, giving it special properties or powers.
Significance
This piece of jewelry is extremely valuable because of the purpaurantius detail of the pendant. The simple fact that this is a wearable piece of purpaurantius makes it a symbol of wealth and power as well as a projection of the wearer's confidence, as it takes a lot of courage to openly wear such a valuable and desired item.
The Brain of Lightning has been the subject of many plots and conflicts, including an entire war, but up until now it has always been returned to its rightful owner, giving it the additional symbolic value of perseverance and determination.
