Scale of Balance

The loss of the Scale significantly complicates the work of the Order, as the effects of individual deeds can no longer be traced so precisely. A reconstruction is impossible, which is why the artifact cannot be replaced.

However, since the existence of all worlds depends on the balance, the artifact is considered essential for survival, and the Order uses all possible means to recover the Scale. For many adventurers, the search for traces of the Scale can bring riches and favors if their clues lead to the artifact being used again.

Mechanics & Inner Workings

The scale was bound to the Song of Creation and the multiverse through magic and the blessings of the gods when it was created. When an action affects the balance, the scale indicates this by a soft ticking sound. This ticking becomes louder the more the balance is affected.

As soon as the multiverse is threateningly out of balance, the scale announces this by a loud, shrill whistle. In former times, the respective Grand Master of the Order was bound to the Scale and received this information also by telepathic means. Since the disappearance of the Scale, however, no one is bound to it anymore.

What a fascinating artefact. It definitely sounds like a bad thing that the scale is currently lost, and I hope the Order can find it to prevent things from turning out badly.
