'Orc Chieftain'

Few Orc men can gain the title of 'chieftain' of a tribe, whether they die before they are old enough to challenge a tribe's current 'chieftain', or lacking the strength to defeat one. The only way to gain this title is to successfully defeat another 'Orc Chieftain' in battle and take his place as man of the tribe.

Qualifications

An Orc must be physically strong to earn this title, for if they can't defeat a current 'Orc Chieftain' they run the risk of being killed by him.

Requirements

Orcs typically spend several years roaming the land before attempting to take the title from another Orc. During this time he must sharpen his fighting skills, and pick up new tricks and knowledge that may help him.

Duties

In addition to his responsibilities, good 'Orc Chieftains' will take part in their children's education, by teaching them to fight, and letting them practice their new skills on him. Often this results on him on the ground, being swarmed by happy young Orcs.   He is also expected to tend to his wives needs, keeping moral up, and performing certain duties during celebrations.

Responsibilities

Orcs with this title are in charge of the entire tribe's safety. They often patrol their territory in search of potential threats, such as rival male Orcs or dangerous wildlife. If any are found, it is his job to either chase them off or eliminate them.

Benefits

'Orc Chieftain's' typically has access to any of the women in the tribe, and any children born to the tribe during his time will be his. Women have the right to refuse him if they feel that he is not performing his duties well enough.

Grounds for Removal/Dismissal

One can lose this title if they are unable to defeat a rival that challenges them for the title. If defeated they are either killed or forced to flee for their life.
