When humanity left their homeworld for the stars they found a galaxy full of life, with many galactic civilizations filling the galaxy. Humanity received a sizable territory for themselves and a place among the other races, and for a long time humanity expanded and developed, but after several centuries many humans felt the need to discover once again, something denied to humanity for centuries. They found a suitable target: Andromeda. Unfortunately, even with the best technology in the galaxy, it is a ten thousand year journey. Eventually, a solution came: by using a warp cannon a voidship can temporarily speed up, shortening the journey to a mere twenty years, six enormous ships where created, and over ten billion people volunteered for the journey, though only three billion were accepted. The warp cannon was even more difficult to construct, and could only be fired once due to the power requirements and lack of stability of the construct. The four ships were finally shot to Andromeda together in 2531, bringing humanity to another galaxy.   In Andromeda humanity found a less peaceful galaxy, with several factions trying to destroy them. But humans are well adapted to warfare and survival. Humanity finds a way.
