Anahuac

This is an all-human world. The creatures are based on different regional mythologies. The races are now cultures. The cultures conglomerates of other existing cultures that exist or have existed throughout time.   The world has different cultures surrounding magic. In Tribulacion, the magic is pretty polarized between light and dark magic. People don't tend to see other kinds too often, and they don't really see those outside of light and dark as their own thing; rather they classify them based on whether they are used for good or bad. There's a reason for this as while Priests keep the peace and preside over cities and towns, the Cult of Every Shadow lurks behind every corner, biding their time like opportunists and of course doing deals in the dark.   The starting country is called Tribulacion, essentially translating to "Trouble" which is basically super catholicized pandillero magic mexico. It's a wonderful, quirky place with enough darkness in it to turn your coffee black. You'll meet juggling clown cartels, Musical rulers, friendly skeletons, and of course your horrifying suppressed childhood trauma that has made you into the person you are today for better or worse. Remember that your interactions are real, but the world is as fantastic as you make it.   More than anything, I would like to tackle themes of morality and moral grey, redemption, and the strength of the human spirit. I hope I can convey the beauty and complexity of the human experience through absurd escapist simulated reality.
