The oldest school of Magic in Anagaeia, blood magic has a bad reputation due to it's very nature. Blood magic enhances the power of spells cast through it, with a terrible cost; blood.
Few to this day know the true origin of blood magic. Some say it was mastered by vampires, using human 'farms' as a power source. Others say it was a twisted wizard, driven to insanity by a lust for power.
Only one thing is assured. Blood magicians are a ticking time bomb, and incredibly dangerous.
The art of blood magic

In order to use blood magic, the magician needs to utilize rune scars. To create a rune scar, the magician must carve runes into their flesh using a magically enhanced blade. Each rune binds a spell to the magician's life force. In order to activate the runes and cast spells, the magician must shed blood. Experienced and powerful blood magicians are able to use blood from others to cast their spells, but blood magicians commonly shed their own blood. Upon detecting the blood, the rune activates and glows, charging with the magical energy required to cast spells.
The only limit for the amount of runes a blood magician can have on their body depends on the constitution of the magician. Rune scars generate a lot of magical energy, and have the potential to overwhelm the magician and destroy them.
