Half-Elf

Half-Elves are the result of a child born between an Elf and a human. Such an occasion is a rare event, and even rarer does the child survive. In the case that it does however, the child will experience a number of traits from both sides of it's heritage.   Males usually stand between 5'5" and 5'10" where as females are usually a few inches shorter. They are bulkier than their Elven cousins, more durable and sturdy like a human, but they also lack all of an Elf's natural agility. Decidedly a middle ground physically, with traits that make them different altogether from either parent's species.   Half Elves live to be between 300-400 years old, and age much slower than humans once they reach adulthood. They are immune to a great many diseases like an Elf, but vulnerable to some of the most lethal ones, as well as the common cold, while everything in between seems to pass them by like an Elf.   Again differentiating themselves from humans, an Half-Elvish person will have slightly more Elven features, more defined chin and cheekbones, slenderness of form and a seeming inability to become obese. However the Half-Elf's true giveaway are their ears, long and pointed like their Elven cousins, and the male Half-Elf's facial hair, which grows just like a human's.   It is known that Half-Elves may take after one side or the other to a degree as a normal being would, sharing traits influenced by genetics such as height, looks and natural ability. A child from a particularly thin couple may end up thinner than what could be healthy, where as a child of an obese human and an Elf may wind up with an unnatural portliness so rarely spotted among their kin.
