Haralon

Haralon is a country whose territory lies north of the ???? mountains. Haralon was governed by a patriarchy, where an autocrat established laws and distributed territory to local Lords. The patriarch was was generally chosen by agreement from the archmages who used divination to determine the next patriarch in the line. Haralon was the center of trade and arcane knowledge. Scholars would visit the libraries and admired wondrous artifacts stored in the great libraries. Haralon had a population of nearly 1.5 million people before Gregore's Folly. After this event, the population of Haralon dwindled a just over thirty thousand. With most of the cities destroyed during the Moonfall, the remaining population fled the territory. Debris of the Moonfall would linger over the world for days causing worldwide panic. From Haralon's rise to its fall, twelve patriarchs would reign.

Structure

Haralon has a government thay is centered around a patriarch. The patriarch establish a council of mages that would advise him on the dealings of the patriarchy. The territories that made up the patriarchy would be governed by their original lords. This was an attempt by Haralon to preserve the peace. While the Lords enjoyed their sovereignty, Haralon maintained no obligation to support them. Thus, the country of Haralon was a union of states that did not share any obligation of support. However, the patriarch could, at any time, elect to exercise control of any state within the domain of Haralon.
