Hagragloom

Peacefully, your essence unbinds the tethers that reach from your fingertips to your toes to your core. The elements decompose a begin their chaotic spin. Your senses lose focus as you are cast between worlds. Your essence breathes in the void as silvery tethers reform into a familiar form. You gaze once again at youthful fingertips, relieved of the pains that you once bore. You stand tall until you look out into the vast, vibrant expanse. Chains snare shifting forms, binding them to order as they fade from this realm. You begin to feel dull and lost. You wander as memories begin to slip away. Every step leaves behind pieces of your life, your feet scratching against spectral barbs. The resplendence of a new life shattered.   Now, you wallow. The pulse of your despair ripples through the plane. A cry for help is uttered, but a call of the weak is heard. Sound calms to silence. Warmth flees from around you. Even now, strands of the elementals have departed from your sides. You feel the void, an outward pressure as though every piece of you wants to flee in terror. You search for a moment, panic seering through your being. It is not hiding, nor stalking. It is not planning or waiting. It is coming. You watch as a monster of untold origins approaches. Tendrils reach, grabbing onto unseen holds. A brilliant light seeping from its maw. You gaze into blackened eyes and see your reflection. That is the end. Your beginning and end meaningless. Unbound, memories are eviscerated. Those in the world beyond may seek to remember you, but memories will fade away. Your descendants will be haunted in their dreams. Terrors will strike them to their centers. The line is weakened and fiends seethe for the hunt. The Hagragloom moves again.
